The United States Forecast

(Second Half of 2009)

The second half of the United States forecast starts out with a powerful yet beautiful conjunction between the transiting Jupiter, Neptune, and Chiron aligning with the 4th house moon of the United States. This aspect began back on April 20th and officially ends on January 23, 2010 when Jupiter transits forward out of alignment.

What this means in plain English is that the United States is in the beginning stages of a healing recovery from the turbulent past of the last eight years. The emotional state of the nation is beginning to be soothed and calmed down a bit. The housing market should begin to see a solid improvement during this time as well as the stock market. In fact, things should take a significant turn for the better during this time frame and improve more than the experts are expecting it to.

This healing energy is being felt on a broader scale as well because the United States will see a continued improvement in its relations with the global community. In a New York Times article published on July 23, 2009 entitled "Global Views of U.S. Helped by Obama, Survey Says," President Obama is credited for vastly improving the trust in the United States amongst several nations across the globe to levels that haven't been seen since the days of President Bill Clinton. This will undoubtedly enable Obama to accomplish a lot of his policies that require the cooperation and support of other nations.

From July 06, 2009 until October 12, 2009, transiting Saturn is making a conjunction to the Neptune of the United States. This indicates a time when the dreams and ideals of this great nation are being put to the test. Are we really who we say we are? Are we really the land of the free or has that simply become a clichéd saying that is devoid of any true meaning? Is the "American Dream" a thing of the past or can we as a nation make that ideal a powerful reality once again?

Saturn is known as the "Great Taskmaster" and will see to it that the United States dreams and ideals (symbolized by Neptune) are realistic so we can expect to see a lot of news stories about what once made this country great and questioning if we still have what takes. This is a good thing because it will help us as a nation to realize just how great our potential is and will help us to refocus on what we want instead of what we fear. In short, this aspect has the potential to keep us grounded and help us to find our way again as a nation.

There has been a lot of stalling in Congress with regard to President Obama's healthcare policies. I predict a huge surge of activity in the direction of support for Obama's plan starting on August 04, 2009 through September 25, 2009. However, we can expect to see staunch opposition from some key political figures also due to transiting Saturn and Uranus squaring the nation's natal Mars. Tensions will rise and tempers will flare, but ultimately I see Obama's healthcare plan being made into law although probably not in its original form due to compromises being made in the wording of the bill.

Employment will improve steadily starting in August. In addition, a lot of the stimulus money that was pumped into the states' budgets will become increasing noticeable due to the positive effect that it is having upon the nation's economy. This is due to Mars transit over several planets in the 8th house of investments, the stock market, and banking. The Jupiter, Neptune, Chiron conjunction makes a beautiful trine to these planets also so you can expect things to start shaping up in our economy in a very harmonious way that allows Americans to let out a great sigh of relief as things begin to look decidedly better.

Unfortunately, the war in Afghanistan will become increasingly more intense for the United States from September 08 through the end of 2009. This is due to the Mars transit through the 9th house of foreign affairs conjuncting the Sun, Mercury, and North Node of the United States. The U.S. will become increasingly more resistant to compromising with its enemies, but will make very strong diplomatic attempts to resolve issues.
