Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler

As of this writing on August 28, 2009, there's a ton of speculation amongst the press that Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler are in the beginning stages of a relationship despite both of them denying anything of the sort. They are both currently making "The Bounty" movie together in New York and have been frequently spotted off the set holding hands.

Regardless of what the truth is, let's take a look at their astrological chemistry and see how much compatibility these two actually have together.

These two have a ton of great stuff when I look at their astrology charts together. Despite Jennifer's past troubles in the love department, I'm going to go out on a limb here and make a bold prediction for these two. I see them not only being compatible, but also being very compatible for the long-term duration of this relationship. Yes, this does mean marriage if they choose to go that route. Regardless of whether they formalize their union or not, I see them living together in a happily committed way together.

Let's take a look at the things they have together that would make me predict that. First of all, they both have their Saturn in each other's 7th house of love and marriage which means that they view one another as serious marriage potential. They see each other as being dependable, reliable, and trustworthy and therefore view each other as representing their ideal partner.

In addition, they both have a Libra Rising which means they see life in the exact same way and they approach and react to life in the same manner also. This gives them the same priorities and instincts in life. This ensures that they're going to usually be on the same page together in life. The Libra energy they have symbolizes that they both deeply value peace and harmony and really dislike conflict. Likewise, they also really yearn to find that special someone that is going to light up their life and set their world on fire due to Libra's desire to find the perfect other half.

On a similar note, Gerard has his Jupiter tightly conjunct Jennifer's Ascendant which means several things. Jennifer feels completely free to be herself around Gerard. In addition, just being around him gives her a sense of optimism, hope, and joy. Since his Jupiter is exactly opposite her descendant (7th house cusp), their union is one of happiness, fun, and enjoyment.

Now, let's take a look at the physical attraction and magnetism between these two. In traditional astrology, one of the most basic ways to do this is to look at the Venus and Mars of each person and see what connections if any they make to each other. Gerard has his Venus in Scorpio and Jennifer has her Mars in Scorpio. Mars in a woman's chart shows what kind of man really turns on and appeals to her senses.

Sextiles in astrology indicate areas where there is an opportunity for something truly special to transpire if we pay attention and apply ourselves. In this combination, she will need to appreciate his innovate and unique Aquarian energy that is gifted at thinking out of the box. This is only more enhanced by the fact that Jennifer just so happens to be a Sun sign Aquarian, so there's undoubtedly a very tight bond between them in this regard.

On his part, Gerard will need to appreciate her tremendously competitive drive that is so powerfully symbolized by her Venus in Aries. Jennifer is a go-getter and isn't shy at all about going for whatever it is that's she wants in her life, be that a career objective or a love interest. Gerard would be wise to value this side of her and never get caught up in the competitive energy of Aries. This would probably be a big negative because it may very well bring out the worst in both of them.

Jennifer is an energetic and dynamic doer, but she can also be somewhat bossy and even domineering because of her Aries and Scorpio energy in her chart. She can be very stubborn and really expect to get her own way in a lot of things. In her case, she either needs to stay single or find a man with very compatible and/or identical astrological energy in his chart.

In Gerard's case, he really does seem to fit the bill for her because not only is he a Sun sign Scorpio, but he has his Venus in Scorpio. This indicates that he really respects and values a very honest, direct, and strong woman who can stand on her own two feet. In addition, his Venus is in the first house which gives it an Aries flavor. This means that he also really enjoys a woman with Arian qualities.

Along with Gerard's Venus in the 1st house, he also has his Jupiter there also. Once again, he has a lot of aggressive, dynamic, and straight-forward Arian energy himself. I mean honestly, how much more perfectly suited could they be?

In addition, Gerard has his Sun in Scorpio in his 2nd house. Jennifer has her moon in Sagittarius in her 2nd house also. Although their Sun and Moon are in different signs, the 2nd house values of issues of security, money, and doing work that is meaningful to them is extremely important to both of them since they both have 2nd house energy. In addition, this gives them a lot of Taurus energy that manifests itself in their lives as being hard-workers, very practical, and very persevering with tons of old-fashioned common sense. Most importantly, they really do seem to have a solid understanding of one another and thus have a very harmonious connection.

Okay, that was all the great stuff that they have together. Now, we have to come back down to Earth for a bit and take a closer look at everything in their astrology charts and not just the good stuff. No relationship (that I know of) is without its fair share of challenges and obstacles. These need to be successfully navigated before a couple can reach their greatest potential for happiness and success together.

With that being said, let's take a look at some potential problem areas for them. First of all, they have a tight square between their Sun Signs. He's a Scorpio and she's an Aquarius. These are both fixed signs which indicates that both of them can be really set in their ways and be especially stubborn. What this means is that when they inevitably have some kind of disagreement or communication breakdown, both of them will probably have a hard time admitting their particular role in the disharmony between them. Needless to say, with this kind of energy they have tremendous stamina and strength individually and together, but when it comes to disagreements, they really need to cultivate the art of compromise or else they will truly endanger the longevity of their relationship.

Unfortunately, this appears to be a weakness for both of them since they each have Saturn in their respective 7th house of relationships which symbolizes that they're both learning the same lesson of putting themselves in their partner's shoes and learning to be more empathic and understanding instead of demanding that things have to be "their way or the highway."

Another difficult thing I see is that Gerard's Moon is in a tight square (90 degrees) to Jennifer's Uranus. This means that on one hand, Gerard finds her very fascinating and exciting, but on the other hand, he will come to find her to be exasperatingly unpredictable and unorthodox in some of her actions. This can cause some pent-up emotions on both of their parts that can quite possibly lead to some dramatic and explosive blow-ups between them. I do believe, however, that since both of them have Aquarius energy (Uranus rules Aquarius); this negative effect probably won't be as bad as it could be.

Similarly, Jennifer's Moon is tightly squared Gerard's Pluto which indicates that their attraction to one another is powerful, intense, and irresistible. Very passionate feelings of possessiveness may come into play. Power plays and control issues might present some serious challenges between them also. You know what, though? These two have a ton of tough Scorpio energy that makes each of them no stranger to passion and intensity.

These qualities are what makes each of them feel the most alive and will undoubtedly make them stronger together than apart. I see them having a passionate love affair that stands the test of time if they handle the rough spots that they come across with loving gentleness, grace, and forgiveness.

In closing, if the rumors about them are false and they're not a couple, then all I have to say is that astrologically speaking, they should be! There's simply too much attraction between them for either one of them to resist. As time rolls on we shall soon see.
