Horoscope Houses
There are 12 horoscope houses or astrology houses that govern different areas of your life. When your astrology birth chart shows that you have a planet in a particular house it takes on a heightened significance. Even without a planet in a house the horoscope houses still serve a vital purpose because they determine your particular approach to the affairs of life governed by that house. Each of the houses describes the main area of your life that the planet's energy will take place in. The houses also describe your unique approach to each of these areas. The horoscope houses are essentially where the action takes place in your life. All of the houses are important, of course, but the houses that have planets in them are given the spotlight in your life. Okay, let's begin our tour! Each of the horoscope houses is important, but the first horoscope house is extremely important. This is because it is the house of your ascendant or your rising sign. Basically, the sign that was rising on the eastern horizon at the exact time of your birth is your rising sign. The second of the horoscope houses describes the things in life that you tend to value. It describes your point of view towards money and the talents you have in acquiring it. The third house describes how you communicate your ideas. It also symbolizes your siblings, neighbors, our early education, and short journeys. A man with Mars in Scorpio in this house would tend to be rather blunt and to the point. He would have an intolerance for small talk and desire into deeper and more meaningful conversations. He could also have a wickedly sharp tongue when angered. The fourth house describes your roots, childhood, home, family, and your subconscious. A man with Saturn in the fourth house would have most likely experienced a strict, rigid, and/or religious upbringing. He will greatly value organization and a sense of order in his life, but especially in his own home. The fifth house of the horoscope houses describes your love affairs, romance, children, and your natural creative ability. This house describes in part how you access your creative talents. The sixth house is the house of work and service and describe your attitudes and approach to the work that you do in your life. This is the house of how you serve others. It also describes your general health and any problems that you may need to look out for.
A woman with Saturn in the sixth house describes an individual who has a great sense of duty and/or responsibility. She will tend to be a workaholic and have a hard time relaxing. This placement blesses her with robust physical health. Her health can suffer, however; due to her tendency to neglect getting enough rest. The seventh house describes your intimate relationships and closest friendships. This house describes the personality traits that you are looking for in others that complement your Rising Sign.
If a woman has her Sun in Aquarius in the seventh house. She will need a partner that is very confident, unique, and very much his own person. Her partner would need to make their relationship as high of a priority as she does. In addition, she would require all of her friends to display Aquarian traits as well. The eighth house describes support from others financially, emotionally, and/or spiritually. This is the house of sexuality, spirituality, and secrets. This house also includes your partner's assets and joint resources. The ninth house describes your higher education, long journeys, and higher philosophies.
A man with Jupiter in the ninth house indicates someone who has a great need to learn and actively pursue advanced educational degrees. He will love traveling around the world and experiencing different cultures methods and belief systems. The tenth house describes our social status and our career aptitudes, talents, and ambitions.
A woman with Neptune in her tenth house will tend to blend her ,compassionate natures in her career. This could take the form of a social worker, spiritual counselor, or a psychologist. This is also the classic placement for those interested in an acting career. The eleventh house describes our highest dreams, our more casual friendships, and our humanitarian qualities.
A man with his Sun in the eleventh house makes this person a natural leader of some sort amongst his peers. He has strong humanitarian urges to assist society as a whole in any way that he can. He will tend to be a late-bloomer in life and experience great success due to his understanding of his earlier life. The twelfth house describes our subconscious mind, how we recharge our batteries, and parts of ourselves that we hide from others. A woman with Pluto in her twelfth house symbolizes that she has great inner strength available to her. However, she may keep it hidden away from others. It is also quite possible that she isn't aware that she even possesses it. Pluto here also gives a great connection to the spiritual realms. She will feel an intense depth of emotion and therefore needs to express it through journaling, physical exercise, or through creative expression in the arts.
